Cesare Prandelli thus frames the recent crisis of Italian football: "The talent is a natural gift, but if you do nothing or do little to value it remains an unexpressed potential. In recent years in Italy, little has been focused on the valorisation of talent and the improvement of individual technique. It is rather preferred to consider other parameters such as physical structure and tactical appearance. The recent successes of Spain, Germany and Switzerland remind us that effective football is above all an expression of talent strengthened by a very good technical base", explains the c.t.
His National team starts from the talent for reconstruction: "We have started a very important job for a few months with the aim of giving this team a strong identity in the technical profile, a physiognomy that expresses a quality football through the valorization of the talents we possess. We have given us the deadlines in the medium and long term and the qualification to European 2012 represents a first verification".
